In the Frankfort area Captain Kris reports Salmon in the River, Salmon at the Dams and Bridges, Salmon in the Harbor and at the Piers, Salmon in Platt Bay , It has been virtually all King Salmon with very few Coho Salmon, Brown Trout and Lake Trout . Charters are getting 12-15 a trip on average. 26 pounds has been the recent largest and reports are the bigger ones are up in the Charlevoix area.

Alpena
In the Alpena Budd continues to report the fishing is still very good on Long and Grand Lakes, the bait of choice has been nightcrawlers and crawler harnesses. Anglers are landing a mix of Perch, Pike, Walleye and Bass. It has been a little windy on Lake Huron but Salmon are now reported in the harbor, Budd doesn't think they have made it to 9 th street dam yet. However currently the bridge closed due to construction.

On lakes Cadillac and Mitchell fishing reports are slow due to the very small number of anglers going out. They are still getting lots of Pike, Bass and Crappie, some fishermen have headed to the rivers and Tippy Dam and are finding Salmon. |

Muskegon Area
In the Muskegon area the fishing is good and Salmon are being caught in Muskegon Lake and at the mouth of the river. Rapalas in 4-6 feet of water in the early morning and at dusk are working best, during the day head to the 80 foot hole and fish 50 to 60 feet down. You can also catch Salmon at the pier heads and out to 70 feet of water. |

In the Detroit River Frank reports anglers are still seeing large numbers of Walleye and have freezers full, Perch is also starting to improve and will get better, also still large numbers of catfish. Anglers are also doing well on Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, recent tournaments have seen very happy anglers, Frank adds the only thing missing has been fishermen.
