Gladstone Area
In the Gladstone area Naomi reports anglers have been finding Perch in the North End of Bay DeNoc. Bass are reported in decent numbers in the Escanaba River , Walleye are in the South end of Black Bottom and To the South Salmon are reported around the Ford River.

Frankfort
Over in the Frankfort area Captain Kris reports excellent Salmon fishing with many 20 pounds and larger. So far a 32 pounder is the largest seen. Early morning and at dusk are still the best times with glow colors in the AM and Blues and Greens in the evenings. He says during the day you can catch a few here and there in deeper water. With all the recent storms the thermo clines have been changing, at one point last week there were up to 40 feet but currently are at 110 feet. Also many large bait fish are in the area so use large lures. A few Steelhead in the 5-9 pound range with an occasional 11 pounder are also being landed. Also a few Coho in the 8-12 pound range are already showing up, Captain Kris thinks it could be a banner year. Most of the action has been North of point Betsie, in an area called the flats, also 6 mile hole and the Manitou Islands .

Alpena
In Alpena Buck reports the fishing is still superb on Long and Grand Lakes with lots of Walleye hitting Night crawlers, Perch on Minnows and Bass hitting everything. Pike are also being caught, Salmon anglers are not going out as most of the fish are running 10 pounds or less, they are reported larger to the north.
