Best bets are heading north of the harbor along the banks or south to the Herring Hole, West Platt bay is decent as well. Pearl Spoons with Greens and Blues along with some occasional hits on dipsy divers.

Alpena
In Alpena the Fishing is good according to Budd. Long and grand Lakes are real good for Walleye, Pike and Bass. The Mayfly hatches may be over. Perch is picking up on Long Lake . The bait of choice has been leeches. On the big lake Salmon in the 9-10 pound range are being landed and they are very healthy and strong. Lake Trout Limits are all day. Also Pink and Atlantic salmon are rumored to be in the mix. Walleye fishing on Thunder Bay has been very slow. Also lots of Baitfish are showing up including Rainbow Smelt, Alewives and Shad.

Lexington Area
In the Lexington and Port Sanilac Area anglers are getting Catfish off the beaches using crawlers, Salmon success has been slow but the best bet is to fish the shipwrecks. Lake Trout are in 40-60 foot of water in Lexington and 60-90 feet out of Port Sanilac. Perch are decent in the weed beds in Lexington and in Port Sanilac in the Harbor and from boat.
