Carole reports the weather has really changed and on Thursday there was an inch of snow on the ground, cold rain is expected to continue through the weekend but on the small lakes the Bass are biting for the catch and release season

In Ontonagon they were reporting rain and snow mix on Thursday but the Morel Mushrooms are popping up. Weather is expected to improve next Tuesday.

In Raber they have been getting lots of needed rain and Mushroom hunters are reporting a few Morels and Beefsteaks, around Yacht Haven on Drummond Island Perch have been reported excellent also good reports out of the Canadian Bays off Neebish Island

On Lakes Cadillac and Mitchell Debbie reports before the weather took a change Pike have been very active hitting whatever you throw at them, many are in the 28-30 inch range, on both lakes limits of Crappie are reported, on the river Steelhead has mellowed and is winding down but Brown and Brook Trout is picking up. Morel hunters are finding whites and grays.

Muskegon Area

In the Muskegon area Bill reports good King Salmon fishing around the pier heads with the occasional Steelhead use bright and shiny lures and expect limits. Best fishing in the early morning and the evening with the morning best. Sizes range from 2-18 pounds.

Lexington Area

In the Lexington Area very healthy King Salmon are being reported in 30-60 feet of water and as the weather improves they should move in closer. Around Lakeport good Perch are reported and as the season progresses they will move North. Also lots of Perch are reported in the Harbor but you will have to sort. Walleye is good on the St Clair River both casting and trolling with reported limits and very few you have to throw back.

Farwell Area

On Crooked Lake anglers are finding Bass on the beds and decent Bluegill fishing. Morel hunters are finding mushrooms.

Trenton

On the Detroit River, frank tells me anglers are still getting limits on Silver Bass and it should continue for 2-3 more weeks, Walleye in the 18-20 inch range are being caught around Gilbralter, Grassy Island some of the good spots on the Canadian side of the Detroit River and around Port Wayne.
