Over to Raber where Bob reports the Walleye fishing has been better this summer than ever, Perch are good on Raber Bay and around Detour the Salmon are good. Bear hunters are reporting a very good year and the use of dogs start now. Hunters are seeing more Partridge then previous years and yes fall color is starting with the maples.

Indian River
Over in the Indian River area Salmon are being found in the rivers, the late summer Steelhead and Brown Trout have been good. Perch and Walleye success has been fair to excellent. Smallmouth Bass have been excellent fishing from the docks. Hunters are spotting lots of Bucks and Maple trees are changing color. Also, a Puffball the size of a soccer ball was found. |

Alpena
In the Alpena area Budd reports that the area has seen lots of rain but Walleye in the 19-21 inch range are being landed on Long and Grand Lakes . Salmon are not being found in the Rivers or Harbor and it has been slow going. Hunters are not reporting any deer and according to Budd it has been this way for years. So far most of the trees remain green with very little color.

In the Oscoda area Rick reports Salmon off the pier heads with a few in the river. Fish are running 15-20 pounds but not many anglers are going after them. Lake Trout have been reported good. Cook and Foot ponds remain good for Bluegill and Cedar Lake has been decent for Walleye.

In the Detroit River Frank reports the Walleye continue to be everywhere, also reports of lots of Perch around Sugar and Dynamite Islands and at the Cross Dyke.
