Ontonagon Area

Don reports that just 2 weeks into the season the bear hunting has been excellent, so far this year they have 57 registered and usually they have 60 registered in a season, Grouse numbers are way up and it should be phenomenal, No word of salmon in the rivers yet but they are getting a few out on the big lake, Fall color is at about 50 percent, Deer numbers appear to be up with many small bucks being seen. Also lots of raccoons out and about.

Gladstone Area

In the Gladstone area Naomi reports that the bay is still quite warm and anglers are reporting perch and bass along with a few walleye. As far as fall color there are just small spots.

Raber Area

Over to Raber where Bonnie reports things on the slow side with most of the seasonal guests gone, there are reports of Perch on Raber Bay but no Walleye. Walleye are reported good on the North side of Neebish Island in the shipping channel. Fall color is at 25 percent at the most.

Indian River

In the Indian River area last weeks report was Salmon in the rivers with Steelhead and Brown Trout good. Perch and Walleye has been decent along with excellent Smallmouth Bass off the docks. Fall color just starting with Maple trees changing color.

In the Oscoda area last week they were getting Salmon off the pier heads and in the river. Lake Trout have been good and small lakes producing panfish.

Cadillac

The report from Cadillac is improved fishing on Lakes Cadillac and Mitchell with anglers seeing limits on Crappie also lots of Pike action. However most of the focus has been Salmon on the Manistee river with fish running 20 pounds plus.
