Cheboygan County

Cheboygan County is located way up at the top of the mitt in the Lower Peninsula . It has three excellent lakes - Burt, Mullett and Black Lake , and some good hunting for everything from elk to wild turkeys. Cheboygan was a Native American word first applied to the areas river. It may have originally been " Chabwegan ," which means "a place of ore." Although Frenchman we're the first white men in the 1600's, it was originally inhabited by the Chippewa Indians.
