Missaukee County


Missaukee County is located between Cadillac and Houghton Lake . No big towns, with the biggest Lake City , which on the county's biggest lake - Lake Missaukee . Missaukee County was named for an Ottawa Indian chief Nesaukee, which means: "Large Mouth of the River." who signed the treaties of 1831 and 1833. In 2000, Missaukee County voted for George W. Bush as the U.S. president, with 4,274 votes over Al Gore 's 2,062 votes.
