Osceola county lies south of Cadillac, it's biggest down is Reed City which is the county seat. Not many lakes in Osceola county, so not many fish come from there, but you do see big bucks. Osceola County was named after Seminole Indian warrior, Chief Osceola, who fought the U.S. in the Second Seminole War in 1837. Rev. George Bennard, author of the famous hymn, "The Old Rugged Cross" was orginally from Osceola County.
