St. Clair County


St. Clair County is the eastern most county in Michigan ; the big city is Port Huron . They have a few big bucks in this county, but with Lake Huron on the north and the St. Clair River on the southern border, St. Clair county produces many species of fish. St. Clair county is one of a handful of Michigan 's counties that produce sturgeon. St. Clair County was named after General Arthur St. Clair, the first governor of the Northwest Territory .

The St. Clair River is one of the heaviest traveled rivers in the world. It is part of the world's longest shipping canal, the 2,347 mile St. Lawrence Seaway.
