Pilgrim Village Fishing Report March 19, 2006

FISHING CONDITIONS ON LAKES CADILLAC AND MITCHELL FROM PILGRIM VILLAGE FISHING SHOP
SUNDAY, MARCH 19, 2006

Few are fishing our lakes. Most are chasing Steelhead on the Manistee River or are just tired of ice fishing. There's still 8 to 10 inches of solid clear ice below 3 or 4 inches of junk ice, with no standing water. The shore lines haven't opened either. See pictures of trucks and trailers still driving on Lake Mitchell. The few die hards are reporting good catches of crappie and some better Perch. Lake Missaukee has safe ice with some standing water. We're told the larger Bluegills are back. Green Lake-Our last trip found 8 inches of ice, but we needed a board to get on it. The boat launch was open. Once on the ice the trip was worth it. Higgins-We're told there's safe ice and the shoreline is solid. Reports of good numbers of smelt during the day and some Perch. Remember to purchase your 2006 Fishing license. The 05's expire March 31. Stop by the Pilgrim Village Fishing Shop for your Steelhead needs. We carry everything but the fish! The store has changed over for your Spring Fishing needs.
