Pilgrim Village Fishing Report April 2, 2006

FISHING CONDITIONS ON LAKES CADILLAC AND MITCHELL FROM PILGRIM VILLAGE FISHING SHOP SUNDAY, April 2, 2006

Spring is here! It's time to pack away your ice fishing equipment. Lake Cadillac is completely open water. Mitchell is covered with a coating of black ice and will open soon. As of this writing, Perch are not being caught in the canal, nor are Crappie hitting at the Causeway. These places are always the early spots. But those who have tried aren't even getting bites. We're hearing of more and more Steelhead on the Manistee River. Fish are starting to stack at the Dan and so are the fishermen. Spawn, wax worms and wigglers are working and flies are beginning to be important - especially Stone Flies. April is Steelhead Month. Remember your 2005 licenses expired March 31. The 2006's are available at any license dealer. Don't make a mistake. Pike, Walleye and Trout all open the last Saturday of April. Only 4 weeks to wait. Stop at the Pilgrim Village Fishing Shop for your bait and tackle needs. This week's special for Trout Anglers: Polar Creels Regular $14.99--Now $9.88
